Is chivalry something of the past?

Chivalry is defined to be as distinguished gentlemen as they have an honorable and polite way of behaving especially toward women. Nowadays it is hard to find gentlemen. The question is it because parents aren´t teaching their male children how to treat women (as it before was accustomed), or is it because women don´t behave in a way that show men that they deserve to be respected?

 

I remember years ago men, regardless if they liked you or even knew you, they would open all doors for you. When going in and out of stores, when getting into the car, helping you carry heavy things, pay for everything....just out of respect because they were women men would do this.  I´m not saying women should rely on men for everything, because I do believe women should also be independent, but men should at least have the courtesy to offer.

 

What will become of the future generations? I can´t imagine what type of men my daughters will go out with. Before guys would treat ladies to dinner & a movie and then try to get something out of her. Nowadays they just think taking her out for coffee or just to dinner will do the trick.

 

Call me old fashioned but if a guy goes out with me has to open & close every door for me & pay for everything especially on the first date if he wants to go out with me ever again.

Aun existe el amor verdadero o quedó en el pasado?

Para muchos el amor es bastante confuso, para otros simplemente no existe. Te has preguntado si el amor realmente existe? Hay un final feliz en cada historia de amor o solo existe en los cuentos de hadas?

Estoy segura que no eres el único (a). Hay muchas definiciones de la palabra AMOR lo cual todos eligen interpretarlo de la manera que mas les conviene. Hoy en dia muchos factores son tomados en cuenta cuando te enamores de una persona: su etnicidad, edad, sexo, altura, peso, ocupación, educación, etc.

Ahora la "química" no es suficiente. El aspecto físico le gana a todos los factores anteriormente mencionados. Ahora es la atracción sexual por la cual se dejan llevar las personas especialmente los jóvenes. En años anteriores  se usaba que las personas se casaban porque querían estar toda la vida junto a su pareja. Hoy en día la mayoría se casa por intereses financieros o por que son obligados hacerlos ya que están a punto de tener un hijo. El matrimonio era algo sagrado y algo muy valioso que poco a poco fue perdiendo su valor. Es rara las parejas que duran casados. Incluso hay varias parejas que viven en unión libre. Me parece hasta mas irónico cuando las parejas que han vivido en union libre por varios años se casan y al poco tiempo se divorcian. Sera que le temen al compromiso? Se supone que el amor lo debería de vencer todo.

 To many people love is confusing, for others it just does not exist.  Have you ever questioned if love truly exists?  Is there is a happy ending in every love story or just in fairytales? I am quite sure you are not the only one. There are so many definitions of the word LOVE and everybody uses it in the way that is most convenient to them. Nowadays many factors are considered when you love a person: ethnicity, age, gender, height, weight, occupation, education, etc. Is "chemistry" no longer enough? People have guided  themselves  by sexual attraction, especially teens. In previous years people believed in marriage since they wanted to spend their entire lives with their partner. Recently people  have been marrying due to financial interests and because they are expecting a child. Marriage used to be thought of as something sacred and valued. It is rare for couples to stay married. Each year there are more couples who live together without even getting married. Its even more ironic how couples who have lived together for years without being married, divorce fairly quickly. Is it that they are afraid of commitment? Love is supposed to conquer all.
